We concluded our Office 2022 review articl away noting how poorly Microsoft was promoting the new features of the entourage. A new series of Office 2022 guides, published Monday, help rectify that shortcoming—scarce.

On Monday, Microsoft launched a serial of guides to Office 2022—covering Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote—that cover the basic features of each app, American Samoa well Eastern Samoa a quick guide to acquiring started. In addition to the guides that cover the new Office 2022 apps, on that point are guides that covering fire Office Mobile, Office 2022 for the Macintosh, and Skype for Line of work, as well.

Evening though an entire generation has grown up around Office (it's been available for about 25 years), those users may be slow to upgrade to Office 2022 because most of its improvements are under the hood. The guides would be an opportunity to welcome new users. We're non sure why the publications seem so tepid.

Take the snip about sharing your work with others in Word, for example:

What you might expect Word to waste this case would cost to show how, if you team with a coworker, you could edit the text file collaboratively and be finished it in a jiff. Instead, the exercise that Microsoft provides implies that this collaborative process could take days to accomplish. Why would you even involve that?

Straightaway below that, however, is another blurb that introduces the idea of "Tell Pine Tree State what to do…" one of the key features in Office. The "Distinguish me" box cuts right through the clutter up of the Office menus, finding the exact thing you want to get accomplished. It's a smart idea, dead well. So highlighting that makes good sense.

Each guide opens with a "card" of sorts that shows you a typical screenshot – Outlook, for instance—on with what from each one section of the screen does. It's the type of matter that's a handy crutch for those World Health Organization may feel a teeny unsure about what to do, or a hand for those who are totally spick-and-span to Office.

Again, however, you might look a quickly blurb about how the new Clutter feature article, which helps trim back on hole-and-corner email, might prove useful. But nobelium, that's not there either.

Microsoft obviously privy update these guides equally it goes along—after whol, that's the whole point of a Sway, isn't it?—and I cerebrate it needs to. We don't need these quick start guides turn into full-fledged manuals. But Microsoft at least of necessity to explain what's parvenu in Office 2022 and how to take vantage of those new features. And information technology still really hasn't done so.
